Why you should take your family vacation over Christmas; swap the Christmas tree out for a Palm tree!

Some might say celebrating Christmas on the beach is a disgrace to the Christmas tradition: but they are just grumpy due to having to shovel 6 inches of snow while you are getting some colour on the beach. Here are some reasons why you should take your family vacation over Christmas.

First off... “if it isn't a given:” the weather! Why spend your holidays getting frostbite When you can be getting some good old Vitamin D?

You might be wondering how you can afford all of this: Christmas and a Vacation! But shockingly it is actually cheaper to fly over the holidays as there is nobody in the airports. They are only at 5% their normal capacity. Another bonus! Plus I am sure your kids won't mind a few less presents in swap for some jet ski rentals.

Although you might be missing out on the annual family gathering, there are 365 days in the year; I am sure Grandma is free another time. Unless you decide to bring the annual gathering to the beach and trade in the turkey for some tropical smoothies. Another bonus being there are tons of group discounts on resorts to check out. More savings! Or do the family gathering a day ealy and catch a flight on the 25th.

Personally, “well at least for me”, I’d rather spend my money on experiences than materials. This is something you look back on 10 years from now sharing stories at the Thanksgiving table about how Grandma won the resort's hula hoop contest. Instead of talking about the brand new rubik's cube you got that was useful for 3 months; is now sitting at the back of your closet. Plus I am sure it wouldn't kill for your family to spend a little more time together.

Finally, it's a stressful time of the year, and what better way to de-stress than to sip a sugary beverage on the beach. “Hint:” there is NONE!
